Sacañet lies in the Alto Palancia region, at around 1,015 metres above sea level, in high terrain with cold winters and hot summers. Its land hides spots of great natural interest, such as La Bellida, El Resinero and El Quiñón, perfect for hiking and enjoying the mountains in silence.
A walk around the village is short and pleasant: you enter by the church, carry on to the town hall and, climbing the street, reach the park with its gardens and fountains, one of the locals' favourite spots.
Its name has been linked to the word for a reed bed. For centuries it was part of Bejís, from which it separated in 1842, gaining its own municipal area together with the hamlet of Canales.
Today, with just a few dozen residents, its economy is based on subsistence farming and sheep rearing. Sacañet is an ideal destination for anyone seeking fresh air, tranquillity and the authenticity of high mountain villages.

Sacañet celebrates its patron saint festivities in honour of Saint Isidore, although they were moved to 15 August to coincide with the summer holidays so more people could attend. Alongside the usual bull event, procession and open-air dances, the highlight is the sharing out of La Caldera, a communal stew in which the whole village takes part.
